ATV and UTV routes in the City of Platteville will be expanded to include most city streets. That’s after the Common Council voted Tuesday, 4 – 2 in favor of amending an ordinance to update the city’s route plan. This revision opens almost all roads within the city for ATV or UTV use, year-round between 6am and 10pm. Although the update has been approved by the council, the new routes will not take effect until the ordinance is published and signage is posted along the routes. City officials say it could take a few weeks before that signage is up. Council members Ken Kilian and Jason Artz voted against the expansion. (proposed plan below was approved June 8, 2021)
