Lafayette County Crash Saturday Night with Citations

A Darlington man has received multiple citations after a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in rural Darlington. According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Eric Nicklaus was driving west on Highway 81 near Burke Road. Deputies say he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center line, struck the ditch and entered the roadway again. The vehicle had severe damage and was towed from the scene. Officials have cited Nicklaus for no valid driver’s license, operating left of center, no insurance and failure to notify police of an accident.
