A 25-year-old Vernon County man has been arrested. Kaden Hartje was taken into custody by deputies when a highway work crew reported they had been threatened by a man with a gun. The incident happened Tuesday at about 7:00 a-m in a rural area outside Viroqua. Witnesses told deputies Hartje was armed when he came outside his home, upset that a Highway Department dump truck had turned around in his driveway. He was also upset that they were working so early in the morning. Hartje was taken to the Vernon County Detention Center, then released on a signature bond after a hearing the same day.
