Governor Tony Evers made a visit to Grant County on Monday with a stop at UW-Platteville. The governor met with university officials to talk about a new solar array project on campus. The 2.4-mega watt solar array covers about 5 acres of land across UWP’s Memorial Park. Once finished, it’s going to be the largest, non-distributed solar farm in the US for a higher education institution. Officials say Evers’ administration helped advance the project – which is set to be completed this fall. During an all-campus referendum, more than 80-percent of participants supported additional renewable energy efforts at UW-Platteville.
