Two teens were hurt in a crash that ended with their vehicle engulfed in flames. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was called around 11:45 last Thursday night for a crash on County Road Q about 5 miles south of Muscoda. Deputies say 16-year-old Aven Junk of Lancaster was driving north when she went off the roadway due to dense fog. The vehicle went into the ditch, striking a mailbox and culvert before crossing a driveway and then hitting a tree. Junk and a 15-year-old passenger were able to get out of the vehicle and walk to a nearby home to call for help. When crews arrived on the scene, the vehicle’s engine was already on fire and eventually fully engulfed the car. Both teens were taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle is a total loss. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
