The murder trial of a Northwest Illinois man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and leaving her body at the Dubuque Arboretum & Botanical Gardens has been delayed until January. 22 year old Richard Forsythe of Galena is charged in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County with first-degree murder. Forsythe has pleaded not guilty. Police said Forsythe killed 20 year old Jennifer Lopez of East Dubuque by stabbing her at least 15 times. Her body was found in the arboretum on February 1st. A court-ordered GPS ankle bracelet for Forsythe was found nearby. Forsythe’s jury trial, which was set for October, now is scheduled to begin January 4th at the Dubuque County Courthouse.
