Grant County authorities say a man from Hazel Green was killed Saturday night when his vehicle collided with a loaded hay wagon. 26 year old Tristan LeGrand died of his injuries at Grant Regional Health Center. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, LeGrand was traveling south on Highway 129 at the intersection with Lincoln Road near Lancaster shortly after 8pm when his vehicle struck and became wedged underneath a wagon being pulled by a tractor driven by 63 year old Paul Adams of rural Lancaster. Adams was also traveling south on Highway 129 and had been stopped in the southbound lane waiting for northbound traffic to clear so that he could make left turn at the time of the crash. LeGrand was extricated from the vehicle and life-saving measures were attempted. Adams was not injured. Authorities believe that insufficient lighting was a possible factor in the crash, which is being investigated.
