Platteville Police say they’re investigating an altercation between two groups of people along the Rountree Branch Trail. According to a social media update, police say three people were running on the trail at around 4pm Tuesday. When the group got near the bridge at Business Highway 151 and Staley Avenue, they encountered three other people. After an exchange of words, a male in the second group displayed a knife. The runners fled the area and contacted police. They described the group near the bridge as two white females and a white male, all being in their late teens. The male had short dark hair and no facial hair. He’s about 5-foot-7, weighing 140 pounds. The females were described as having similar height and weight. Those with information about this incident are asked to call Platteville Police at 348 – 2313.
