One person was injured Friday in a crash that temporarily closed a portion the Dubuque-Wisconsin bridge. 45 year old Tassie Crews of Hazel Green was taken by ambulance to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital for treatment. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened at about 8:45 a.m. Friday in a southbound lane on the bridge. Crews was traveling south when she looked for an item on her passenger seat, and then when she looked again at the roadway, she could not avoid a collision. Her vehicle rear-ended a tractor driven by 58 year old Terence Havertape of Hazel Green that was pulling two gravity boxes of soybeans. The rear gravity box spilled soybeans onto the roadway. The highway was closed for an extended period of time to allow the removal of the soybeans from the roadway. The crash remains under investigation.
