MADISON, Wis. — Jack Gorniak’s goal in the third period gave the Wisconsin men’s hockey team the lead and they wouldn’t lose it in their series opener against Army.

The Badgers beat the Black Knights 4-1 Thursday night to pick up their first win of the year.
Sam Stange, Owen Lindmark, and Ryder Donovan each scored a goal, while Cameron Rowe stopped 21 shots.
Wisconsin and Army close out their series Friday at 7:00 p.m.
