Fata Motorcycle Crash in Grant County

A man from Cuba City died as a result of a motorcycle crash Friday night in Grant County. Shortly after 11pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motorcycle crash on County Highway H in the Township of Hazel Green. 61 year old Ricky Heileman of Cuba City was driving a motorcycle on County Highway H and drifted off the road and onto the gravel shoulder. The motorcycle entered a ditch and traveled approximately 430 feet before colliding with a power pole. Heilman was ejected from the motorcycle. Heileman was not wearing a helmet. Heileman was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque and later died due to his injuries. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hazel Green Fire Department, Hazel Green EMS, and Guy’s Truck and Trailer of Kieler. The crash is still under investigation. This is the 7th fatal crash in Grant County in 2021.
