Wisconsin ranked first in the nation for the weight of prescription drugs collected in this year’s National Drug Take-Back Day. In total more than 57-thousand pounds of drugs were collected statewide October 23rd. The annual event gives community members a chance to safely dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs and learn about the dangers of those drugs if they go unused. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, Wisconsin ranked first in the country for the weight of drugs collected, plus first in the number of law enforcement agencies participating (261), and number of collection sites (300).
