Vehicle Crashes Into Semi, One Person Injured

Jo Daviess County authorities say a driver was injured in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor trailer Friday near Galena. 28 year old Nicholas Stephenson of DeKalb, Illinois was taken by ambulance to Midwest Medical Center in Galena for treatment of minor injuries. According to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred at about 4:50 p.m. Friday on U.S. Highway 20 near Highway 84 North. A report says Stephenson was traveling east  when he attempted to negotiate a curve in the roadway, lost control of his vehicle in wet conditions and collided with a semi driven by 64 year old Terrance Mulgrew of East Dubuque.  Stephenson was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and operation of an uninsured vehicle.
