Another Lafayette County supervisor has resigned, marking the second resignation from the county board in the last month. District 2 Supervisor Mike Klein of Belmont submitted his resignation last Thursday. Just recently, Klein indicated he would abstain from the vote on a funding resolution for Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County. Klein works for Southwest Health in Platteville. At the County Board meeting on December 7th, Luke McGuire of Mineral Point was appointed to the District 5 seat to represent the Towns of Willow Springs and Fayette. He filled a vacancy created when Andy Schilling resigned after purchasing farm property in Grant County. Coming up on January 5th, a vote on the funding resolution for a new Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County is scheduled to be considered by the Lafayette County Board. The new hospital would be constructed on a 36-acre site south of Darlington off Highway 23 and along County Highway K.
