A Lancaster man crashed his car into a horse and buggy Friday near Fennimore. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, 63 year old David Noell III was driving on County Road F shortly after 3pm Friday and looked down to grab something inside the car. When he looked back up, there was a horse and buggy on the right shoulder of the road traveling south. Noel struck the horse and buggy on the rear left side. The impact forced the horse, buggy, and the three occupants off the road and into the ditch on the west side of the road. The vehicle received moderate damage and was removed from the scene by Arrow Towing. The buggy had heavy damage. Two of the three occupants of the buggy had minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene. The names of the persons inside the buggy were not released. Noel was cited for Inattentive Driving. Fennimore Fire, Fennimore EMS, and Lancaster EMS assisted at the scene.
