Galena City Council members have approved a significant increase to the annual licensing fee for video gaming terminals in city establishments. The fee increase comes after a recent change to state law that allows non-home-rule municipalities — such as Galena — to impose an annual fee of $250 per video gaming terminal. That fee previously was capped at $25 per year. Galena has 50 terminals in 10 establishments and that could lead to an additional $11,250 in revenue per year for the city.
