No one was injured in a two vehicle crash in Beetown Township Monday around 10:45am. 72 year old Thomas Cartwright of Cassville and a passenger, 71 year old Linda Mezera of Cassville, were traveling to the intersection of County Highway U and Old Beetown Road. Cartwright and Mezera did not see 34 year old Nathan Marcy of Maquoketa, Iowa traveling north on County Highway U. Cartwright attempted to accelerate past Marcy’s vehicle unsuccessfully, and the front of Marcy’s vehicle collided with the drivers front corner of Cartwright’s vehicle. Both vehicles had disabling damage. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by B and M Towing. Cartwright was cited for failure to yield to right of way from a stop sign.
