A southwest Wisconsin man was arrested after police said he stabbed a woman at a Dubuque residence. 39 year old Brian Booth of Platteville was arrested Tuesday on a charge of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. Officers responded at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday to Kaufmann Avenue for a report of a stabbing. A report says 48 year old Daphny Almendarez of Dubuque suffered a puncture wound on the left side of her upper back and a puncture wound on her inner left elbow. Almendarez told police she had asked Booth to leave her home and Booth stabbed her from behind when she opened the door for him to leave. Police recovered a knife at the scene, and Booth admitted to stabbing Almendarez.
