Don’t Expect Any Relief From High Gas Prices Soon

Wisconsin drivers are being told not to expect those high gas prices to come down anytime soon. GasBuddy-dot-com analyst Patrick De Haan says the COVID-19 pandemic caused a drop-off in demand last year when most people stayed home. That led to oil companies reducing production. When demand came rushing back as the economy opened up, prices went up when oil production failed to catch up. Tensions between major oil producers Russia and Ukraine have been factors, too. The Wisconsin average price of a gallon of gas is about three dollars, 16 cents. That’s 21 cents below the national average. Prices are highest in western Wisconsin where the pumps are farther from the pipelines.
