Authorities in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois continue to investigate the disappearance of a Monticello woman. Police say 37-year-old Melissa Trumpy was last seen in Monroe on October 26th. She was planning to visit her boyfriend – 35-year-old Derek Hammer – in Shannon, Illinois. However, her vehicle was found a few days later near Pearl City, Illinois, with no sign that Trumpy was around. A Green County official says the inability to locate Trumpy over the past 3 months has led him to believe her case is likely a “no-body” homicide. At this time, police have not named Hammer as a person of interest in Trumpy’s disappearance.
