Forecasters with the National Weather Service have issued a winter weather advisory for the entire tri-state area because of a risk of freezing rain on Tuesday. The advisory is in effect from tonight until 2 p.m. Tuesday in Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson and Jones counties in Iowa and Jo Daviess County in Illinois and until 6 p.m. Tuesday in Clayton County in Iowa and Crawford, Grant, Iowa and Lafayette counties in Wisconsin. The weather service reports that a storm system will bring a mixture of rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow to the area. As much as a quarter-inch of ice is possible in some areas, which could cause hazardous travel conditions and tree and power line damage.
