A $4 million grant has been awarded to a Darlington hospital. Officials with Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County say the facility got the money through the state’s Healthcare Infrastructure Capital Investment Grant Program. Governor Tony Evers announced more than $97 million in grants statewide to address healthcare access needs. In a release, Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County staff say the funds will be used to purchase in-house MRI services for the replacement facility, which is scheduled to open in 2024. The hospital has two-day coverage now for contracted MRI services from a traveling unit. This expansion will allow for MRI services on a daily basis, quicker turnaround on results and provide faster access to treatment.
