The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions and the Wisconsin Coalition on Student Debt has awarded 12 graduating high school seniors with scholarships in the form of $1000 Edvest gift certificates for their winning in the Wisconsin Money Smart Essay Contest this spring. Graduating high school seniors across Wisconsin were encouraged to write essays about how they plan to finance their college education. One of the essay contest winners is Andrew Mims of River Ridge High School in Patch Grove. There were 152 essay submissions based on criteria including identifying funding sources for college explaining how to manage student loan debt.
