Lancaster officials have confirmed positive COVID-19 tests for multiple people connected to city operations. During the Lancaster Common Council meeting this week, 4th District Alderperson Katie Reuter told the rest of the council she had tested positive. Reuter was participating in the meeting via Zoom. At the same meeting, Lancaster Fire Chief Steve Braun – who also serves as director for Grant County Emergency Management – announced his positive test. Braun is following health department guidance to remain in quarantine. He says he hopes the community remains vigilant in taking this situation seriously. Lancaster Police Chief Deb Reukauf also confirmed a police officer tested positive for COVID-19 – with a second waiting for test results. The two officers had responded to a medical call in which the deceased person tested positive for coronavirus. Those officers are both under quarantine.
