The Badgers had one of the best first quarters of the season, scoring 21 points thanks to Torchio’s pick-six and two passing touchdowns from Graham Mertz. Wisconsin was held silent in the second quarter but tacked on another two touchdowns in the third quarter thanks to Braelon Allen and Issac Guerendo.
Guerendo shed a few tacklers as he trekked 54 yards to the house. He ended the day with 73 yards on 7 carries. Allen registered 114 yards on 16 carries.

The Boilermakers gave the Badgers a bit of a scare in the fourth quarter, thanks to rushing touchdowns from Devin Mockobee and quarterback Aidan O’Connell, but it was too little too late. O’Connell completed 31 of his 46 passes for 320 yards, but his three interceptions put Purdue into a very deep hole.
Mertz put up another strong game, completing 13 of his 21 passes for 203 yards. He did not throw any interceptions. Skyler Bell was the top receiver on the day, catching four passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. Chimere Dike also registered a touchdown, one of his three receptions on the day.

It was a much-needed win for Wisconsin, who now have just four games left to earn bowl eligibility. The Badgers’ record is now 4-4 overall and 2-3 in Big Ten play.
Bucky will get to enjoy the comforts of home for the next two weeks. The Badgers have a bye week next Saturday and return to the field on November 5 to host Maryland. The Terrapins celebrated their own Homecoming on Saturday, taking down Northwestern to secure their sixth win of the season and bowl eligibility.
The kickoff time for the November 5 game has not been announced.
