UPDATE: Sept 3
Officials at Southwest Tech have now learned they were given falsified documents this week related to a positive COVID-19 test. A statement from the college says they received documents incorrectly indicating a positive test for a student who was attending face-to-face classes. According to Southwest Tech officials, the individual fabricated the report and has not tested positive for COVID-19. The person involved is no longer affiliated with the college. Students in the Electro-Mechanical Technology program will resume in-person instruction on Tuesday (Sept 8). The college has notified area health officials of the false report.
