The Badgers and Golden Eagles have faced off 22 times since 1977, most recently on Sept. 2 of this year. Wisconsin won that match 3-1 in front of a sold out crowd at the UW Field House. The Badgers lead the all-time series 21-1, with their one loss coming in 2019 in five sets.
While the reigning National Champion Badgers may be at the top of the volleyball world, Marquette is not far behind. The Golden Eagles ranked No. 16 in the latest AVCA poll, and are in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament after back-to-back sweeps.
Wisconsin still has work to do before next September’s big match. The Badgers take on TCU in the second round on Saturday night.
