“We are incredibly proud of (Jones) for the great work he does both on and off the field,” Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy said. “His A&A All the Way Foundation has had such an influence on the kids and families it serves. He has also been a devoted contributor to our Packers Give Back efforts.”
Jones is one of the main contributors to the Packers’ Salute to Service work, sending messages to veterans and speaking with children at military academies. He was the team’s Salute to Service spokesperson this season.
His A&A All the Way Foundation, which he founded alongside twin brother Alvin, helps children in need. The foundation did turkey giveaways for needy families in Texas and Green Bay and ran youth football camps.
Jones also has a Yards for Shoes campaign, where he donates a pair of shoes to Wisconsin children for every rushing yard he gains up to 1,000 yards.
Each NFL team nominates a player for the award. Jones was joined on the nominees list by Giants running back Saquon Barkley and Titans running back Derrick Henry.

The league has handed out a Man of the Year Award every season since 1970. The award was renamed in honor of Walter Payton in 1999, shortly after his death.
No Packers has ever won the award. Two former Badgers, however, have taken home the honor in the last five years. Russell Wilson won in 2020, and JJ Watt won in 2017 after his efforts helped Houston recover in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
