The National Weather Service at Milwaukee has confirmed 2 tornadoes in Southwest Wisconsin last Friday Evening. An EF-1 tornado with winds estimated at 100 mph was on the ground from 6:50 pm to 7:01 pm for almost 13 miles from west of Belmont to just southwest of Mineral Point. Numerous trees snapped or were uprooted. There was also damage to several farm buildings, outbuildings and grain bins. Another EF-1 tornado with wind speeds of 95 mph was on the ground near Rewey for 2 minutes starting at 6:50 pm. Officials believe the tornadoes’ path was about one half mile with damage to trees and several outbuildings.
