A Prairie du Chien woman was injured Saturday when her vehicle hit a tractor pulling a hay baler. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says 68-year-old Irene Kluth was driving on Highway 35, about 3 miles west of Lancaster around 1:30pm. That’s when her Jeep struck the rear of the farm machinery being operated by 69-year-old Steven Schneider of Lancaster. Kluth’s vehicle rolled end-to-end before coming to rest in the ditch. She was taken to Grant Regional Health Center for treatment. Kluth told authorities she did not see the tractor until after hitting it. She’s been cited for inattentive driving. Schneider refused medical transport.
