A number of Beef Quality Assurance Meetings are scheduled for Northeast Iowa. Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) is required for producers who sell cattle to Tyson Foods, Cargill, and Iowa Premium, as well as several other beef processors and select sale barns. Certification must be renewed every three years to maintain sales eligibility. Locally, the first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 18 at the Parish Center in St. Donatus. Program begins at 6 PM. Producers need to pre-register by calling B&G Feed Service at 563-773-8801. Other meetings are Tuesday, July 9 at Equity Livestock in Waukon. Dinner at 6 PM, training starts at 6:30 PM. Pre-register by calling Equity Livestock at 563-568-4501; and Thursday August 29 at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Lancaster. Program begins at 1 PM. Pre-registration is required.
