A woman from Spring Hill, Florida has been arrested following an armed robbery in Platteville Thursday Afternoon. Authorities were notified about 4 pm that a suspect, later identified as 45 year old Bereta Alesandru entered a downtown business, displayed a knife and demanded cash. She fled the scene in a vehicle with the cash. A Platteville Police Officer located the vehicle and what authorities described as “a high risk traffic stop” was conducted. The suspect along with a male and a juvenile were detained. Bereta Alesandru has been charged with Robbery with a threat of force. She is being held on a $5000 cash bond and ordered to have no contact with 3 Marias Ice Cream Parlor. The Grant County Sheriff’s Department, UW-Platteville Police and Rip’s Towing of Platteville assisted.
