Judd Apatow & Steven Spielberg Join Coke Vs. Pepsi Film ‘Cola Wars’

Judd Apatow is set to direct Cola Wars, a film depicting the competition between Coca Cola and Pepsi to dominate the soda market in the U.S. Produced by Steven Spielberg, the movie is in early development after Sony acquired the project pitch in April. Writers Ben Queen and Jason Shuman (Apple TV+’s Acapulco, HBO’s Winning Time) have been brought on board to develop the script. Few other details are available at this point, but the movie is expected to be similar to Ben Affleck’s Air, about the development of Air Jordans. Notable moments in the real 1980’s cola wars included everything from Michael Jackson’s hair fire to the infamous New Coke debacle. (Deadline)
