Platteville composting site has new hours and commercial permit

The City of Platteville has updated operating hours and added a new permit system for commercial contractors at their compost site. The compost site will now be open Monday through Friday 7 AM to 3:30 Pm and will be open on Saturdays from 7 AM to noon. Commercial contractors now must secure a permit that must be displayed at the site through city hall. The permit is meant to help manage the volume of unacceptable materials brought to the site. To prevent unauthorized use, surveillance cameras are now in place at the site to detect any potential violations.
