On Monday, the Platteville Police Department received a report of an attempted physical assault that occurred at approximately 7:30pm. The adult female caller indicated she was walking on West Main Street near Hickory Street and Washington Street when a vehicle approached, and the male driver shouted at the female to get inside the car. The female continued walking when the car stopped, and the male exited, approaching the female from behind. The female was able to escape the situation by running, and stated the vehicle was last seen traveling northbound on Washington Street from Main Street. The female was not able to give a description of the male as she did not see him. A description of the vehicle is limited to a black 4-door sedan with no license plate light. Police are actively investigating this incident and ask that anyone with related information please contact them immediately at 608-348-2313.
