Dubuque nearly doubled its snowfall total for the season as a winter storm dumped several inches of snow on the tri-state area. As of 6 p.m. Wednesday, 5.1 inches of snow had been recorded at Dubuque Regional Airport, according to the National Weather Service. The service’s website stated that 4 inches of snow were reported in Asbury, Iowa, shortly before 4 p.m., while Galena, Ill., had received 6 inches as of 4:45 p.m. and Hazel Green, Wis. had received 4.5 inches as of 2:30 p.m. Maquoketa, Iowa, had received 7.5 inches of snow as of about 5:20 p.m. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for multiple area counties from 6 a.m. Wednesday through 3 a.m. today. The warning covered Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque and Jackson counties in Iowa; Grant County in Wisconsin and Jo Daviess County in Illinois.
