Cobb teen cited for tread depth violation following accident

On Friday at 1:22 P.M., 51-year-old James Birchman of Fennimore, was driving east on Green River Rd in Mt. Ida Township, when he met another vehicle on a curve. The other driver was 17-year-old Hunter Lawver of Cobb. Both vehicles were negotiating a curve on Green River Rd and Lawver was unable to steer through the curve, due to his front right tire have no traction. Lawver struck the rear driver’s side of Birchman’s vehicle, causing minor damage to both trucks. No injures were reported and both parties were wearing their seat belts. Lawver was cited for a tread depth violation and both vehicles were driven away from the scene.
