On Saturday at 9:20 AM, the Grant County Dispatch center received a call of a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 151 at Clay Hollow Rd., in the Town of Paris. 77-year-old William Lansing of Hopkinton, IA, was stopped at the stop sign on Clay Hollow Road at Hwy 151. Lansing informed the officers that he entered the intersection with Hwy 151 to turn south on Hwy 151, but as he was crossing the north bound lanes he saw the “do not enter” sign and realized that was a crossover lane designed to turn south at that intersection. Lansing then stopped in the lane of traffic. 61-year-old Joan Kieler of Hazel Green, was traveling north when she struck the driver’s side of Lansing’s vehicle due to him stopping in the lane of traffic. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, but Kieler was transported to Southwest Health Center by Dickeyville EMS for possible injuries. Both vehicles received heavy damage and were removed from the scene. Lansing was cited for stopping in an intersection. Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Dickeyville Police Department, Dickeyville Fire Department, Dickeyville EMS, and the Grant County Highway Department.
