A free workshop in Dubuque will showcase law literacy and interaction with law enforcement. The Law and Your Community will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 26, at the Multicultural Family Center. The event will feature three officers from the Dubuque Police Department, along with members of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives. Topics of the workshop include citizenship, law literacy and law enforcement engagement, with a focus on proper and safe ways to interact with police, citizens’ rights during traffic stops and how to handle police misconduct. Space is limited and registration is required.Â
