More than 500 Girl Scouts from across the state made their voices heard in an event at the State Capitol Saturday afternoon. Lisa Smith, CEO of Badgerland Girl Scouts said, “When young people see themselves as part of the democratic process, they step into the leadership and civic engagement with confidence.” As part of the days’ events, Gov. Tony Evers declared March 9-15 as Girl Scout Week in Wisconsin. The proclamation was presented at the event by Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez a lifetime member of Girl Scouts and a troop leader.
