Police said a bicyclist was injured Saturday when he was struck by a vehicle in Dubuque. 69-year-old Michael T. Haferbecker of Dubuque, complained of hip pain but was not taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment. The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Central Avenue and West 16th Street in Dubuque. The report states Haferbecker was riding a “low-speed electric bicycle” south on Central Avenue, while 68-year-old Donna M. Kirby of Dubuque, was driving west on West 16th Street. Kirby did not stop at a stop sign and struck Haferbecker. Kirby was cited with failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way, along with failure to produce proof of financial liability.
