Until April 30th, City of Lancaster residents and businesses can get 75% off a tree for their yard or property. Depending on the tree selected, residents will pay only $40-$55, which is 25% of the actual cost. The city covers the remaining 75%, thanks to a $10,000 grant from the Douglas & LuAnne Pink Family Charitable Endowment and the Lancaster Community Fund of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin. Pick your favorite tree or two from among 13 varieties that are native to the Midwest and they will be available for planting in May. For information about the tree replacement program, call Lea Vesperman at 608-723-3702 or email cityhall@lancasterwisconsin.com.
