Nearly one week after the spring election, one local government is struggling to move forward with its results. Voters in Blanchardville elected Lanny Gilbertson as village president, but the village clerk says some people are raising questions about Gilbertson’s eligibility due to his lack of prior service on the village board. This issue stems from a village ordinance established in 2023. According to the clerk, anyone wishing to challenge Gilbertson must file a complaint with the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
