Platteville dog breeder included on “Horrible Hundred” list of puppy mills

The Humane World for Animals has exposed 12 puppy mills in Iowa and 4 in Wisconsin including one in Platteville in their annual “Horrible Hundred” puppy mill report. The breeder listed from Platteville was Samuel Beiler. Beiler is included in the report after receiving three violations during a 2024 USDA inspection for a dog not receiving medical care for an eye problem, sanitation, and identification issues. Prior issues at the kennel included a flooring issue in 2023 and a sanitation violation in 2022. Beiler has sold puppies to many Petland stores. There were no issues found during a Jan. 2025 inspection.
