Southwest Wisconsin Technical College and energy solutions provider Ameresco will celebrate a new $1.6 million solar array and battery energy storage system on campus this week. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the college. The project includes a 300-kilowatt solar array and a 125-kilowatt battery energy storage system designed to offset approximately 60% of the electricity used in Southwest Tech’s Building 400. The project is expected to reduce utility costs by approximately $30,000 per year and provide critical backup power to the Student Services building.
