Resurfacing work on Wisconsin State Route 35 began Monday morning, prompting transportation officials and construction crews to close down parts of the road until October. According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), WIS 35 is closed between Highway 27 and 171 during the first stage of the project. The two-stage $12 million infrastructure project aims to address deteriorating road conditions along a significant stretch of WIS 35, spanning from County Road N in Prairie du Chien to County Road E in Ferryville. According to WisDOT, after stage one’s expected completion in October, stage two of the project will then begin in May 2026, with traffic controlled by flagging operations until July 2026.
