Gretchen Wilson will play a pivotal role in CBS’s upcoming music competition show, The Road. This series, created by Taylor Sheridan and Blake Shelton, features aspiring musical acts touring with headliner Keith Urban. Scheduled for a fall debut, The Road will see Wilson as the show’s tour manager offering mentorship to competing performers and showcasing her talent. “Stepping into the role of ‘tour manager’ for The Road has allowed me to take everything I’ve learned over all of my years of touring and pour it right back into these emerging musicians,” Wilson said in a statement. The show’s format involves audience feedback at live shows to determine the contestants’ progress. (THR)
