America’s Most Wanted: Missing Persons spotlighted the case of a Wisconsin teenager who disappeared nearly two years ago, possibly to attempt a survivalist mission. The episode which aired Monday tells the story of the search for James Yoblonski. He was 13 years old when his father reported him missing June 12, 2023, from their home in Reedsburg. Officials say Yoblonski ran away, taking his father’s cellphone and the family van. A ping led sheriff’s deputies to search an area around Devil’s Lake State Park, where they found a makeshift campsite they believe Yoblonski used. His devices showed searches about how to travel out of state, and according to investigators, Yoblonski had been talking about surviving in the wilderness and “going off the grid” prior to his disappearance. Yoblonski was believed to have taken two survival guidebooks with him, as well as a firearm, when he ran away. The episode is now available to stream.
