Farm Aid will mark its 40th anniversary with an expansive show at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on September 20, featuring performances by festival founders Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp. The music legends will be joined by a stacked lineup featuring fellow Farm Aid board members Dave Matthews (who will be playing a set with Tim Reynolds) and Margo Price, along with Billy Strings, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Trampled by Turtles, Waxahatchee, Eric Burton of Black Pumas, Jesse Welles, Madeline Edwards, and others that have yet to be announced. “Family farmers are the heart of this country, and we depend on each other for good food and strong communities,” Nelson said in a statement. “This year, we’re proud to bring Farm Aid to Minnesota to celebrate the farmers who sustain us and to fight for a food system that works for all of us. Family farmers aren’t backing down, and neither are we.” The event will kick off a year-long celebration of Farm Aid, with ticket sales for the 40th anniversary show starting on May 16.
