On Wednesday at 7:55pm, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a UTV crash on private property at a residence off of West Ln in Paris Township. When officers arrived they learned 69-year-old John Steffen of Cuba City, was operating his UTV, in a field on the property, when Steffen appeared to have turned too abruptly, causing the UTV to roll onto its driver’s side. Steffen sustained an injury to his head, but was able to exit the UTV and walk back to his residence for help. Steffen was transported to Southwest Health Center in Platteville by Dickeyville EMS where he was treated for his injuries and later released. Steffen was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. The UTV sustained minor damage. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Dickeyville EMS and Jamestown First Responders.
